About the event
A mammoth bill representing the biggest, baddest and freshest names in dnb, grime, bass and all that lies between, a total of 26 sets are on the cards so the real challenge is working out where to be and when. That said, the mighty Chase & Status— on headline DJ duties— shouldn’t be missed. The outfit are largely responsible for curing the drum ’n’ bass hangover, and nursing it back into mainstream conscious.
Far from the only luminaries on the list, Zinc delivers hip hop-jungle fusions, while David Rodigan has been recognised by the Queen for services to music, specifically dancehall and reggae. Shogun Audio’s Friction has taken amens in new directions over the last decade. And Craze is a bonafide turntablist, born out of DJ battle culture. Local heavyweights are also well-represented, with era-spanning stalwart Mark XTC, legendary cohorts Dub Phizix & Strategy, the inimitable Chimpo and notorious Levelz collective in the house. Add some of the finest faces to rise up in recent years— Holy Goof, Mollie Colins, Barely Legal— and you should definitely be dressed to skank.
